Post Two Problems: the app will not install + computer does not detect the tablet
on: April 30, 2012, 05:46

I bought the tablet in March and I have two problems:

1) From a certain point when decide to install applications that are downloaded but not installed.
I have than 670Mb of RAM free and almost all applications are on the sd, so do not think it is memory problems.
I tried doing a reset to factory settings. For a while all right, then suddenly the problem reoccurs.
I noticed that at this stage you also lose the applications: namely, some applications that worked until the last time, are disappeared.
What is the problem? What can I do?

2) I would go and Android 4 but have not yet managed to gain recognition from the tablett PC (Windows XP and 7).
I installed the Android drivers (even those that have changed for Vimicro), but these devices are always with the yellow alert "Could not start the device. (Code 10)".
I do this sequence: I connect the tablett through the USB/otg port, physical switch turned on, Press AND hold Volume+ Volume - and Power on.
Nothing happens, the pc does not detect and does not require the installation of new driver.
It may be a drive problem or wrong sequence of keys?
In addition, the tablet access normally is not detected: I expected to see at least the contents of the sd on the tablett.
Is it possible to upgrade Android through sd without a PC?

Thanks to all.

1) I have no answer for you, sorry. Is this with android 2.3 running of android 4.0?

2) Try downloading superoneclick and using the "force driver" option on the second tab. That might load the proper driver for you.

Power+, Power- and Power On is recovery/update mode. That should load a folder on your PC called "VDfu".

You can upgrade to ICS with an SD if you use the NVSLB custom firmware in this thread.

However, the only way to recover from problems after that is to flash your tablet from the PC.

Thank you very much

1)I happens with Android 2.3. I'll try to do a reset and only install the apps on internal memory...

2)I tried superoneclick, but even that did not detect the tablet. What else can I try?

1) I really do not understand exactly what problem you are having. It sounds like apps are uninstalling once your storage hits a certain level. Could you give more details about what exactly is happening?

I think I had the same issue when I used the app2sd function in the settings. The solution for me was to stop using that. ;P

2)Press and hold all three buttons at the same time in the following order.

Volume+
Volume-
Power on.

That should open a folder called "VDfu" and once that happens you can flash your tablet with the vortex software. That can be used to upgrade to 4.0 ***IF*** you have the new motherboard.

As for getting a properly functioning USB driver... I have an issue where my main computer will not recognize this tablet with 2.3 installed. Android 4.0 works fine though.

Computer->device manager->right click on problem device->properties->Detail tab->
change pulldown to Hardware Ids.
Copy and paste everything in the box and paste it here. Maybe we can modify the Google USB drivers to work for you.

1)I used to own app2sd. Now I have reinstalled everything on internal memory and had no problems ...

2)the driver is installed with Hardware Ids "usb\vid_0bb4&pid_0c02&mi_01". is that correct?

3)How do I know if I have a new or old motherboard? I bought the tablet in early March. The build number is: "MID-userdebug 2.3 GRH55 eng.root.20111101.163723 test-keys".

thanks

1) I meant the built in app2sd function in the system settings, not the app you can download from the market. I just let the system determine where to store the data by itself and it seems to do fine between system storage and internal sd.

2) I don't know if that is correct. I need you to post everything in that you see in the Hardware IDS box.

3) There is a thread on the forums here somewhere that explains how to find the difference. Put on your reading glasses and go search for it.

2)This is the only information present in the Hardware IDS box.

  • ~ Very good tablet!

    By

My job allows me to test and review many different kinds of tablets. I had the pleasure of testing the woPad i8 for about 2 weeks, and I must say it is a very good and reliable tablet for the price. The user interface is a lot better compared to other Android tablets. The touchpad is very responsive and may require some getting used to. The HD screen is amazing. It has one of the clearest pictures I have seen from a tablet. It is capable of displaying Flash which is definately a plus. The weight is also very manageable, a person can carry it around without it being too cumbersome. All in all the woPad i8 is a very good deal. It is half the price of Apple's IPAD 2 and can do most of the functions just as"
